Laser Surgery and Reading
Glasses
The laser procedure to correct vision will
not eliminate your need for reading glasses (which is used to for the
condition called Presbyopia. Presbyopia occurs around the age of 40
when the natural aging process causes the lens in the eye to lose the
elasticity required for focus between objects far and near.
In certain situations, an alternative to the use of corrective lenses or
contacts to treat presbyopia can be achieved through laser vision correction.
The laser treatment creates a correction that will reduce your need for reading
glasses. This type of correction is called
"monovision."
Dr. Conners has had
enormous success helping people over 40 reduce their dependency on reading
glasses with monovision.
