Our reading glasses and sunglasses make trips to Haiti where many residents are screened for eye problems and given glasses to protect them from the damage the sun can do.

In 2011 our glasses to Combatong Village in the Phillipines.  This mission made reading glasses available to people in the remote areas that would never otherwise be able to read.

Our glasses went on a mission to Nepal and Tibet where over 500 people were seen.
Among them, a woman who couldn't sew or mend her clothing for 10 years, and a man who apologized for being late because it took him 4 hours to get to the clinic because of a rock slide. He hadn't been able to read his Buddhist prayers for over 20 years, and is now able to read. He then began his 4 hour walk back home.

Right after the earthquake in Haiti, our glasses went on a humanitarian mission
together with    Take a look at the great work they do.

Our black plastic reading glasses were distributed in Ecuador.  Since 2001, volunteers from the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee have traveled to Guayaquil, Ecuador and held medical clinics. Over 13,000 people have received health care, vitamins, and medicines not normally available to them. The eye care clinic is one of the most sought-after aspects of these clinics.  Since the mobile clinics started, over 4,500 people have received vision screenings and more than 4,300 have received black plastic reading glasses. One grateful lady was so happy that she could now sew clothes for her grandchildren.  Hugs and tears of joy and appreciation are the big reward for helping make a difference in the daily lives of these wonderful people.

On a trip to Africa, Mary Fisher took hundreds of pairs of our reading glasses to help the women of Africa see better while beading bracelets.  The bracelets were part of a project which was introduced in "O" Magazine by Oprah Winfrey in the May 2007 issue.   They were sold through  The bracelet production was coordinated by Mary Fisher, with additional information available at  Although the first batch of bracelets sold out immediately, more will be available soon either through  or
Our reading glasses went to Ghana in November, 2006 with a humanitarian mission.
In February, 2006 our reading glasses went on a Medical Mission to Honduras.

Some of you have noticed that the "click here to see larger image" of some of our glasses are modeled by some cute pets and kids. If you want to take a picture of our reading glasses on your cutie, send it to us. At our discretion, we just might use it! A couple of tips we’d like to share regarding the care of reading glasses. When putting your reading glasses down, do not place them with the lens facing down. This will reduce scratching of the lens surface. It’s also a good idea to periodically tighten the hinge screws with a small screwdriver.

Feel free to write us at with anything that you’d like to share.
